Debt Validation is a process whereby attorneys review the billing practices of their client’s creditors and the debt collection activities of any third party that has purchased their information.
Every consumer has specific Federal rights granted by The Fair Credit Billing Act, The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, The Truth In Lending Act, and The Fair Credit Reporting Act. In many cases ambiguous fees and interest calculations affecting a consumer’s bill, as well as the aggressive debt collection practices being employed to collect on the consumer’s debts, are in violation of Federal consumer rights.
Our network of attorneys will diligently review their client’s statements to ensure that they have been billed correctly. The attorneys will identify any violations of their client’s Federal rights, and enforce them accordingly. Should violations be identified, the attorneys will challenge them, often resulting in the removal of inappropriate charges from their client’s statement and therefore a reduction in the total amount of debt owed.
In addition, the attorneys will evaluate the debt collection methods being employed by their client’s creditors to ensure that they are not in violation of Federal consumer rights. Should violations be identified, the attorneys take action on their client’s behalf.
